- Bachelor of Biological Sciences at the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo in 2003;
- Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the July Ninth University Centre in 2004;
- Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation at Emory University, Atlanta, USA in 2013;
- Member of the College of Physical Therapy of British Columbia;
- Member of Physiotherapy Alberta: College + Association from 2006 to 2019;
- Member of the Vestibular Disorder Association;
- Interested in an evidence-based, psychologically informed and person-centred physiotherapy;
- Founder of the Canal Fisio na Pauta, host and producer of the Fisio na Pauta Podcast for Portuguese speakers.
- Former Team Handball player for the Brazilian national team;
- Provides physiotherapy services in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
BIO
Heric graduated with Bachelor of Biological Science in 2003 and Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004, in São Paulo, Brazil. While in school, he played team handball as a professional athlete and was part of Brazilian National team during the 2000-2004 Olympic cycle.
After graduation, he moved to Calgary, Alberta with his wife to work as a registered physiotherapist. After 14 years in Alberta, he moved with his family to Vancouver Island.
Heric is a physiotherapist with a vast clinical experience in Sports & MSK injuries, Chronic Pain, Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion care. He specializes in movement and exercise based therapies with a strong educational component and person-centred care. He also has expertise in manual therapies and dry needling techniques.
Outside of work he keeps an active lifestyle doing resistance training and running as exercise, and spends his time with his daughter and wife exploring the beautiful beaches and trails that Vancouver Island has to offer.
